Finance Manager

We are working on an exclusive role within a successful and profitable distribution  business in the Antrim Area.  Our client is a leading supplier of industry specific products and equipment throughout the world with a headquarters in and a presence throughout the UK.

Reporting into the Managing Director onsite and the Head of Financial Reporting in their UK headquarters the Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager will be:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts; month end close process, journals and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Weekly sales and gross profit reporting

  • Provide analysis and commentary on the performance of the business

  • Preparation of monthly finance pack and schedules

  • Support for monthly business reviews

  • Financial analysis of projects and opportunities

  • Prepare the budget P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow and quarterly forecast for submission

  • Management of working capital across debtors, creditors and stock

  • Monthly/weekly cash flow analysis and reporting

  • VAT returns

  • Review and approval of monthly payroll

  • Assist group finance with preparation of Statutory Accounts

  • Assisting the Group Finance Control function to ensure that all accounting and financial control policies are understood and applied within the business

  • Identify and exploit opportunities for process improvements to streamline reporting and aid analytics

  • Point of contact for external and internal audit

  • Management and develop a small finance team of 2 FTE

Role Requirements:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA

  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to think commercially and see the bigger picture

  • Able to influence and work effectively with non-financial managers

  • Strong analytical skills, with an analytical mindset

  • Excellent financial systems and Microsoft office skills particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint

  • Continually seeks improvement and more effective methods of working

  • Works well in a pressured environment

  • Ability to be held accountable for own area of responsibility

  • Understanding of finance systems and standardised processes

  • Understanding of the updated accounting standard

  • Extensive experience of using financial systems and Excel.
