Corporate Finance - Research & Analysis Manager

They now have an opportunity for a Manager within the Corporate Finance department of the business to assume the role of Corporate Development Research & Analysis Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, the successful individual will be responsible for managing the sourcing, analysis and interpretation of financial and commercial data, project and financial modelling, opportunity assessment, market research and general analytics. The role will also provide analysis for strategic projects for existing businesses within the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor and support the Corporate Development modelling team to ensure the highest standards of financial modelling are delivered to the organization

  • Company  and  industry  research  in  the  context  of  the  origination  and  evaluation  of opportunities

  • Working with the wider corporate development team to assess and evaluate investment opportunities. This will include conducting research, financial review, assisting with the preparation of presentation material for Board approvals etc.

  • To work collaboratively across multi-functional teams.

  • Preparation of investment cases and analysis for Group strategic projects

  • Support the development of financial models for investment appraisal, debt modelling, acquisition assessment and other projects.

  • Utilizing, analyzing and dissecting financial models for the purposes of building robust investment cases.

  • Ensure the availability and adequacy of data to be used in models is of sufficient quality by establishing procedures for collecting and manipulating information and building in appropriate checks and controls.

  • To  be  available  for  providing  good  quality,  timely  corporate  finance  advice  to  other businesses within the Group

 

Person Specification

  • A fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE

  • Previous  M&A  and/or  Business Development experience

  • Demonstrable  experience of collaborating with a number of multi-disciplinary  projects or teams to achieve results

  • Extensive experience of interacting effectively with all levels of management.

  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate and coach a high performing team.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of  the energy industry
