OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for developing & implementing innovative process improvements & NPD, focused on quality, efficiency and cost control to improve process stability.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience of change management, process improvement, utilisation of continuous / business improvement techniques
  • Proven experience of achieving technical & business targets

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Drive the implementation of new and improved processes within operational functions of the business
  • Identifying and recording process variation that could have potential effect on products and taking corrective action and preventative actions working within a team environment to provide solutions
  • To develop, co-ordinate and implement strategies to
  • Responding to technical issues & finding solutions to improve production reliability & efficiency
  • Monitoring & optimising the process to improve process reliability & prevent process issues arising
  • Identifying, managing & leading improvement projects
  • Maintaining compliance with legislation pertinent to the process & liaise with an external regulatory body as required
  • Participation & attendance at business segment European meetings to share process knowledge & best practice
  • Conduct and organise studies on new and existing equipment and analyse data for process improvement
  • Deliver on process improvements through continuous improvement projects
  • Resource machinery and provide data to support applications for capital expenditure as part of continuous improvement

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel
  • Be able to manage and process information in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Be an effective communicator, capable of building effective working relationships and working well as part of a team
  • Able to use your engineering expertise creatively to generate commercially viable solutions to complex problems
  • Capacity to work independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent project management and planning & organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail; and
  • Highly proactive and positive with a “can do” attitude

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL TRAINING

  • Educated to degree level within Chemical / Mechanical Engineering
